Al·ma
noun
Latin — nourishing; life-giving; fostering growth and wellbeing.
It is also the name of my great grandmother – reflecting the care and warmth at the heart of Alma Health Collective
My Philosophy
Pain and physical limitations impact so much of our wellbeing, and physiotherapy almost always plays a vital role. For me, care isn’t just about what happens in the clinic – it’s about working alongside each person to build a lifestyle that supports a strong, capable body, so they can keep doing what they love. I am passionate about Pilates – it has been a wonderful tool, both in my own life, and in the lives of so many of my patients and the more I teach it, the more I love it.
My love for Women’s Health comes from a lifelong soft spot for all things babies. Walking alongside a woman through pregnancy and into postpartum is such an honour, and it brings me so much joy. Over the years, I’ve met so many women who found breastfeeding far harder than they expected – and who didn’t realise just how much this can affect their mental health too. That’s what led me to complete lactation studies and become an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), so I can offer practical, non-judgmental breastfeeding support to women – and what a difference it makes.
How we got here…
I am lucky to have studied and practiced in Sydney before moving to Wagga Wagga to build advanced skills across public and private health systems, before travelling and working all over Australia, including in East Arnhem Land and Broken Hill. Now I am bringing that experience home to Orange, the town I grew up in and love, and to Coonamble, my partner’s hometown. I have a background in full time ballet, and this passion lives on through assisting young dancers with injury prevention and treatment. While I care for people with all kinds of Physiotherapy needs, Women’s Health remains my greatest passion.
